THE OUTSIDE PODCAST
At Outside magazine, I was charged with putting together the magazine's first ever podcast. I produced, hosted, and did post production for each episode. It was an opportunity to talk to artists, celebrities, journalists, fitness experts, and other stalwarts of the Outside world. From famed photographer Danny Clinch to Mt. Everest icon Dave Hahn, to fitness guru Chris Carmichael to the founder of Outside itself, the conversations were inspiring and enlightening.
DANNY CLINCH
From Bruce Springsteen to Pearl Jam, Danny Clinch is the photographic force behind some of the most amazing portraits out there. I interviewed him on his shoot with Richard Branson for Outside.
DAVE HAHN
Everest legend and all around good guy Dave Hahn discusses the mountain and his Outside feature story.
KEVIN FEDARKO
The award winning writer talks about his feature story, "Sex, Lies, and Basecamp."
LARRY BURKE
The found of Outside magazine discusses his adventurous beginnings and the history of the magazine.
PATRICK SYMMES
On a quest to see the fabled utopia of Shambhala, Patrick Symmes traces an ancient path once described by a long-dead Tibetan prince, heading north from Nepal to Tibet to western China and far, far beyond.
CARL HOFFMAN
To report the December 2007 feature story, "Strange Bird," a wild look at the questionable antics of African bush pilot Tim Roman, Hoffman squirmed his way through nail-biting flights and road trips in Congo and Nigeria. Here, listen to our complete audio interview with Hoffman where he discusses the assignment.
THAYER WALKER
Slime nuggets, sugar cane, and coconuts. That's pretty much all Walker had to live off of on the Panamanian island of Isla Pargo. He talks to Anthony Cerretani about the assignment, and why he needed bug spray more than just about anything else.
ERIC HANSEN
Hansen dishes the coveted Out of Bounds gig and how he ended up over 100 miles from where we sent him for the September column, "The Italian Job." Plus, he hashes it out with his buddy J.D. on what went wrong on the trip and how their friendship was saved by the power of gelato.
JOSH HAMMER
Reporter Josh Hammer talks to Anthony Cerretani about his journey to Bolivia to track the resurgence of the coca plant.
