THE BACKPACKER EXPERIENCE
At BACKPACKER, my job ranged from running the website to producing digital editions and eBooks to shooting, editing, and producing video, and running social media strategy and execution. It was an amazing time and allowed me to work across all mediums. Here's a very small selection of that work.
BACKPACKER.COM
I ran the daily operations of Backpacker.com, creating and executing content, focusing on SEO, social media execution, video creation, and tons more. As a team, we concepted the website from the ground up, making it a complete custom interactive experience.

BACKPACKER DIGITAL EDITIONS
At BACKPACKER, we launched digital editions of the magazine before the Apple Newsstand was even up and running. I built both the issues and the apps every month and also partnered with both Apple and Adobe to create a custom newsstand to push the limits of what the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite could do. We created some pretty amazing interactive experiences when the medium was in its infancy. In conjunction, I was also asked to speak at a number of conferences to discuss the app and issues, like the MPA's Swipe Conference in New York.
BACKPACKER EBOOKS
One of our digital initiatives at BACKPACKER was to diversify our offeriings. Ebooks was a great example of this. We created a series of custom ebooks for the Amazon and Apple markets from scary outdoor stories to life list hikes to how-to food and drink content.
